The cottage is situated in an ideal location for exploring the Malt Whisky and Castle Trails, Speyside Way long distance footpath, Moray Coast and the Cairngorm Mountains. It is close to the well known Moray Monster Mountain Bike Trails. Fishing, golf, tennis and swimming are all available locally. The nearest shop and pubs are two miles away in Craigellachie and a greater selection of shops and local services can be found in Aberlour (5 miles). Plenty of tourist information and maps are available at the cottage.
When you have visited the distilleries and castles why not take a trip to the nearby Moray Coast and catch sight of our famous dolphins. Many different varieties of seabird can be found at Spey Bay and during the summer months you may spot an osprey coming in to feed. Around the cottage you can see red squirrels, roe deer, badgers, pine-martins and a great variety of birds.
Aberlour is the home of Walkers shortbread, Johnstons Cashmere is milled in Elgin and the well known jams, chutneys and soups of Baxters are produced locally in Fochabers. There are several good restaurants within a few miles of the cottage.
